IASA chapter in The Netherlands

At the Teched USA in Orlando I met Paul T Preiss. Paul is president of the IASA, the International Association for Software Architects. We had a very nice chat about architecture and the taxanomy of architects functions and positions. IASA is organized in Chapters and in Holland no such Chapter exists yet, although in Holland architecture is a hot topic. So, Paul and I agreed that I will start setting up a team of architects who want to help getting a IASA Chapter in The Netherlands. Want to join? Just comment on this message.

Microsoft Certified Architect announced

In january Gurpreet Pall presented (under NDA) to the LEAP participants (see here) that Microsoft will announce a new certification program at the Tech-Ed in Orlando: Microsoft Certified Architect. But Microsoft has announced this program already on their Architect Resource Center and I am thrilled to participate. My impression is that Microsoft takes it very serious and they should. This program is going help us to get the Architect roles and job functions out of Babylon!
Read here about how to become a MCA.

Architecture is hot!

It is getting to me! Blogging I mean. It is fun and helps me getting my mind focussed on what I encounter on my paths. While blogging for the upcoming Tech-Eds I thought of all kinds of posts for my work field of play: architecture. I am one of the company's lead solution consultants or enterprise architects and as such I am allowed to read a lot (sigh). I want this blog to be my exhaust and invite everybody to join in and help me stay on the right tracks concerning this hot topic.
